REVIEW: NEW CLOW CARDS

December 15, 2017

I got sucked in an internet blackhole and found this! It's not your typical girly pink Sakura Clow Cards - it's the New Clow Cards! 54

WHAT I LIKE:

1. THE ARTWORK.

Designed by an artist named Daniel, he re-envisioned the deck from the anime series Cardcaptor Sakura into (as what some say) a darker feel.

2. CARD STOCK

Comes in a standard 300 gsm cardstock (quite thin for me). 2.5'' x 3.5'' (63.5mm x 89mm). By the way, it doesn't come in a box, you have to order it separately.

3. AVAILABILITY

I ordered the deck at Amazon.

4. SHIPPING

Took almost a month before I was able to get it.

5. THE INTERVIEW.

INTRODUCE YOURSELF: The Fly

I imagine this deck soaring high above the mystical skies and flying into the unknown.

WHAT ARE YOUR STRENGTHS? The Jump

For a deck that introduces itself as a man then now the Heart as its strength is a bit bizarre. I'm excited to do readings that would clear matters of the heart from a logical mind.

WHAT ARE YOUR LIMITATIONS? The Sand

The deck is limited when you are asking or seeking answers with emotional questions such as wishing or hoping. Again, the deck emits more of rational or logical - masculine energy.

WHAT CAN I LEARN FROM YOU? The Watery

The clouds represents a need to be honest and to wake up, to pay attention and to focus.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO CONNECT WITH YOU? The Lock

Since I meant to used this deck for spells, the best way to connect with it is unlocking it's power so I can cast practical spells.

OUTCOME OF OUR RELATIONSHIP: The Return

With every ending there is always beginnings. This card indicates change being inevitable and that we learn to evolve when we embrace change.

WHAT I HATE:

Card stock could be improved.

SCORE: ★★★★★

The New Clow Cards doesn't come with any guidebook. This is actually meant for collectors or fans of the popular anime CardCaptor Sakura. I was thinking of using this deck for spells, much like how Sakura is using them in the anime but not in the same magic staff-wielding fashion.

That concludes my review.
