REVIEW: PM TAROT
Updated: Oct 1, 2020
Unboxing, First Impressions & Review
I am such a supporter of indie decks and deck creators so imagine my delight to finally have my hands on this deck. I am proud to have my hands on a deck made and created by a fellow Filipina Tarot Reader, Chinggay, also known as the Practical Magic.
WHAT I LIKE: 1. THE ARTWORK. To be honest, I do not resonate well with modern-ish art but damn, this deck is awesomely weird. It has that modern vibe combined with nostalgia. I look at it and immediately thought of the 90s when we were all suckers for collage making. It def brought me back to my high school and college days. Ahhh... memories.
2. CARD STOCK
The cards are silky but too thin for me. I am handling and shuffling it with extra care.
Tarot bag and guide pamphlet gave extra points.

5. THE INTERVIEW
INTRODUCE YOURSELF: Page Of Wands / Experimenter
As you may know, most of my decks are either classic or has a whimsical touch in it, so this is actually the first time I bought myself a modern-ish deck that resonated with me. It was (as the card implied), experimental. Trying new things can be scary but I am so glad and relieved the deck and I had a connection.
WHAT ARE YOUR STRENGTHS? 2 of Swords / Analysis Paralysis
2 of Swords is a card of choice. It did help me make hard decisions as I actually hesitated buying this deck (in the first place) because of the artwork. True to its nature, the deck's strength is to help me overcome my indecisiveness and to 'take the bull by the horns'.
WHAT ARE YOUR LIMITATIONS? 8 of Pentacles / Learn More, Practice More
The PM Tarot may be limited to helping me learn more about Tarot. I'm not saying this in a bad way though. This deck was designed to help beginners understand and read Tarot easily.
WHAT CAN I LEARN FROM YOU? 8 of Swords / Trapped But Not Really
The PM Tarot can help you identify why you are trapped with your own thoughts and fantasies. It can help you get out of the chains you have inflicted upon yourself.
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO CONNECT WITH YOU? Wheel Of Fortune
I see the deck as more of a fusion of the past, present and future so getting the Wheel of Fortune card sums it all up. This deck is about cycles and that is the best way to connect with it. This deck is not about standing still, it's about accepting everything life is offering to you - both good and bad - and learning from it.
OUTCOME OF OUR RELATIONSHIP: Queen Of Swords / Brutal Truth
I wasn't surprised to get the Queen Of Swords here since I actually felt we have a common energy. If you were following me on my Instagram account, one of the first cards that I pulled was a Tower card, if that isn't brutally honest and truthful I don't know what is - lol.
WHAT I HATE:
Hmmm... 'hate' is such a strong word, it's more of a 'dislike'. The card stock is too thin for a hard shuffler like me. But the rest are thumbs up.
As I've often mentioned, I do not resonate well with modern decks but my support with indie decks are always on.
That concludes my review.
