REVIEW: TRUE BLACK TAROT

July 18, 2019

It's finally here! I have been waiting for this for over a year!

WHAT I LIKE:

1. THE ARTWORK & CARD STOCK.

Because black is my favorite color... it's only natural that I have to get this. The artwork is packed with a lot of symbols. As seen below, there are also animals involved so if you are extra sensitive about animal cruelty and such (X of Swords), then this deck might not be for you.

Artwork includes animal and human traits.

Cardstock is really thick - 50% more than a standard deck.

2. GUIDEBOOK

I don't normally read the LWB except for when the deck is indie made. True Black Tarot's Guidebook consists of a lot of information including the meaning behind the symbols the artist used for each card.

Comes with a study box, thick yet smooth card stock and a booklet.

3. AVAILABILITY

I purchased mine on Kickstarter. You can get yours here.

4. SHIPPING

I waited for over a year since I first saw it on Kickstarter and it was still in its production process.

5. THE INTERVIEW

INTRODUCE YOURSELF: Anant

It's amazing that the deck introduces itself as an Anant - a new card that is not part of the Tarot system. Anant, as per the deck creator, means neverending and eternal. When the end of the universe draws near Anant will manifest eleven rudras or storm9gods, to bring about the end of the universe so that a new one make take place. Whenever you feel lost or that everything has 'ended', this deck may serve as a great support system that can help you learn from an ending point of your life and move on to a new beginning.

WHAT ARE YOUR STRENGTHS? II of Swords

The True Black Tarot deck will make you realize that regardless of you being in a stalemate or indecisive over a matter, you will still need to take action - no matter how ugly it can be.

WHAT ARE YOUR LIMITATIONS? King of Swords

Being an indie deck that has 2 new cards (Anant and Destiny), the structure is a bit different from your standard Tarot.

WHAT CAN I LEARN FROM YOU? II of Cups

A great partnership with this deck and me is at hand. I look forward to having a deep relationship with this deck. It still amazes me as to how strong it's energy resonates with me.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO CONNECT WITH YOU? King of Cups

To those who know me personally I need not elaborate the hidden meaning behind this card. However, for those who don't, the best way to connect with the True Black Tarot is to have an emotionally balanced relationship with it.

OUTCOME OF OUR RELATIONSHIP: X of Cups

The X of Cups signifies maturity and emotional growth. I like the fact that our relationship will teach me to grow and mature soulfully speaking.

WHAT I HATE:

It's not 'hate' but more of a challenge to shuffle the cards.

SCORE: ★★★★★

FINAL THOUGHTS:

This deck bears a powerful energy which is why I was really drawn to it (aside from its color of course). It is indeed expensive as compared to a standard indie deck but I guarantee that it is worth every penny. As a hard shuffler, I might add this to my personal deck collection - I don't think I can use this for my clients. Extra care in handing is a must.

That concludes my review of the True Black Tarot Deck.
