WHAT'S A JUMPER?

October 4, 2017

If you've been following me on Instagram, you may have notice that I've been posting jumper cards lately. A “jumper” is Tarot slang for a card that 'jumps' or flies out of a deck while shuffling. This has become a common debate in the Tarot community as while some may choose to simply ignore this and just pick up the card and continue shuffling without a second thought, others will see this as a direct message that requires your attention. Tarot beginner readers may get jumpers on a regular basis as they may still not be used to shuffling cards but seasoned readers also experience this too. A jumper always happen even if you're as proficient as a professional casino card dealer.

So what do you do with Jumper cards?

Do you choose to ignore them and put it back on the deck?

Or look at it differently?

I usually write this down in my Tarot journal. You may 'find' a pattern or a significant message that you may have overlooked. Or maybe it's meant to grab your attention as your spirit guides might be telling you an important message that very instant. Ask yourself, what were you thinking about at the exact moment the card fell from the deck? Since many intuitive readers believe that a jumper has to work harder to break free from the deck, you must, therefore, pay extra attention to it.

Remember, there are no rules when it comes to interpreting Tarot.
