5 THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE YOU CREATE YOUR TAROT WEBSITE

5 Things To Consider Before You Create Your Tarot Website

On the previous blog, I wrote about why it is important to create your own Tarot website. Before I start with this article, I was a Creative Director (Web Design & Development) so allow me to give you a bit of insight before you start creating your Tarot website.

1. FIND YOUR PLATFORM

Coding the back and front end of your website from scratch can be tedious and frustrating if you know nothing about codes, scripts and databases. Lucky for you there are now web builders available online such as Squarespace, Wordpress and Wix where you can easily create a functioning website in minutes.

2. HAVE A PLAN

I know you're excited but don't just start designing your website - have a plan. Know this rule: it only takes 5 seconds (sometimes less) for a site visitor to become your potential client. Within 5 seconds, you must grab their attention and keep them hooked on your website at all cost. Your Home Page is the deal breaker. Grab a piece of paper and draw a layout on how you want your website to look. Do not scare them with tacky, blurred images over texts.

3. KEEP IT SIMPLE

One big mistake a Tarot Reader can make in designing his or her own website is that there is too much going on. Yes, I understand you are 'mystical' and all but you are also an entrepreneur - be professional. Being mystical doesn't have to be tacky. If your visitors doesn't understand what your website is all about within 5 seconds, they will leave. Keep it simple and minimalistic. You have to realise that your visitors / querents went to your website because they are in a crisis, do not add to their anxieties by presenting a scary, ugly, cheap-looking website.

4. FIND INSPO FROM FELLOW TAROT READERS

If you are still clueless on what your website should look like, find fellow Tarot Readers who have launched a successful website. What are the things they have in common? How can you improve yours? How can you make yours unique?

5. SEEK A PROFESSIONAL & PAY FOR THEIR SERVICES

If you still don't know how to do it on your own and when you deem your DIY website doesn't look profesh, seek a professional web designer / developer to create a website for you. Just like you being knowledgeable in your practice, they too are knowledgeable in theirs.

Good luck with your online Tarot business!
