REVIEW: THE WANDERING MOON TAROT

Unboxing, First Impressions & Review

This is my very first giveaway win!!!! I still can't believe I won a black coloured indie deck! 🤯🙈 Thank you so much Rachael!!!! 🤩

WHAT I LIKE:

1. THE ARTWORK.

Look at that black and white aesthetic + impressive pointillism art style of @rachaeljean.tarot - check her out! The cards may look minimalistic (being black and white only) but they are actually very detailed. As a default, I have high respect for artists who uses pointillism as their chosen art style. Pointillism requires patience and stroke consistency to get the right amount and size of dots in order to create depth in your art (much like how you learn tarot). The deck has a lot of shadow figures, hands, moons, stars and planets. Rachael combined the traditional RWS tarot with astrology for added lunar healing. The Major Arcana are not numbered by they have titles. The Minor Arcana are ordered like this: the Suit of Cups (moons), Suit of Swords The Suit of Wands are crystals,, the Suit of Pentacles are stars and the Suit of Swords are as is.

2. CARD STOCK

81 cards printed on 350 gsm card stock with matte finish, silver laser edging and silver laser foiling detail. The text on each card seem to be embossed too - WOW! 🤩The extra cards are The New Moon, The Full Moon, The Wanderer and an altar card.

Everything shimmers and twinkles~

3. GUIDEBOOK & BOX

The 192 page guidebook also has a matte (like a rose petal) finish with silver laser foiling detail written by Rachael Jean and Marion Kirk. It has spreads, the meanings of the cards and the card artwork. 👌🏻 The fully printed sturdy rigid box that has an embossed title has a matte (like a rose petal) finish with silver laser foiling detail 😲The deck comes with a drawstring calico bag too.

4. AVAILABILITY

5. SHIPPING

WHAT I HATE:

None.

SCORE: ★★★★★

I am just so surprised when Racheal dmed me and told me I won the giveaway. You guys, I won a black (and white) tarot deck! It's my first giveaway win ever! 🥺The quality of the deck is amazing - the dreamy matte finish with silver foiling detail makes you feel like you are wandering in the cosmos. 🤩I like the part when Rachael said 'the black and white aesthetic helps cut through all the noise and get to the heart and meaning of the card.' I agree, sometimes we add colours to everything that we tend to forget the black and white of the matter.
