REVIEW: WHITE NUMEN - A SACRED ANIMAL TAROT

Updated: Mar 13, 2022

Unboxing, First Impressions & Review

I received a copy of the #WhiteNumenTarot by Alba Ballesta Gonzalez from Liminal 11 in exchange for a review + features on my page! YOU GUYS...!!!! MAY I JUST..... THIS IS MY FIRST EVER DECK REVIEW FROM A PUBLISHER!!! 🤯😭🤩😳 *pardon me while I stare blankly at the sky and ponder about life* 😳

WHAT I LIKE:

1. THE ARTWORK.

I love the whimsical and unique artwork by @albabbgg - check her out!

2. CARD STOCK

Card stock has a high glossy finish which makes it smooth and silky to the hands - easy to fan and shuffle. The cards have a grainy effect that softens the white frames. There are 2 extra cards: Black Numen and the White Numen. It took me a while to realise the Black Numen's animal features a jackal which is a sacred animal to the Egyptians representing Anubis (note that dark, night-ish, underworld realm tone) while the White Numen features the bull (note the bright sky representing the celestial realm), which is a known sacred animal throughout the world and different religions - Hindus, Egyptians, Mesopotamian and Sumerians to say the least.

3. GUIDEBOOK & BOX

Guidebook is meaty with coloured illustrations. The Major Arcana in this deck has more symbolic layers while the Minor Arcana includes the elemental associations. The signature Liminal 11's sturdy magnetic slipcase box is 👌🏻

4. AVAILABILITY

You can order the deck here.

5. SHIPPING

Shipping is via DHL - so it's faster and you won't have to go to the post office to claim your package (for locals)

WHAT I HATE:

None.

SCORE: ★★★★★

Numen in Latin means 'no human' and this magical word evokes the image of primal gods. The nature of the deck itself is very spiritual and it may be a bit challenging for tarot newbies who might use this for mundane questions or not familiar with tarot's symbolism and layers. I enjoy looking for symbols in the cards and learning more about them! You are invited to open your eyes to the path of ancient self-knowledge and let the Numen guide you when you use this wonderful deck.
